Weisenbach Distillery in Kappelrodeck
|
In 1921, Adolf Weisenbach founded a Black Forest distillery in the Kappelrodeck market square, which his daughter Julia and son-in-law Helmut Rentschler transformed into an efficient modern company with a wide product range. It wasn’t long before the premises in the village became too small, so in 1965, the family moved to Richard-Lenk-Strasse on the edge of town, where they built a sizeable distillery. Now the third generation managing directors of the family-run business, Ernst Rentschler and Bärbel Sättler, still keep to the principle laid down by company founder Adolf Weisenbach: |

"All that’s poured into our bottles is what the fruit produces when it’s boiled!"
The fruit – the delicious, ripe Black Forest cherries, the fragrant wild raspberries, indigo damson plums, aromatic William pears and golden yellow Mirabelle plums. 6 litres of cherry brandy, produced faithfully following the rules passed down by Grandfather Weisenbach, requires no less than fifty kilograms of ripe black cherries, which are locally known as "chriese".
And the same process is used to make all of the other fine brandies which made Weisenbach famous. Nothing is added, "messed with" or enhanced. The pure brandy is transferred to the bottle unadulterated. When the seal is broken, the unmistakable fine aroma of the speciality brandies from the Black Forest fills the room.
Weisenbach’s products are split into three categories.
Our extremely popular fine brandies are our top products. These are identified by their "private label" and thanks to their outstanding quality have gained themselves a permanent place on the shelves of connoisseurs and gourmets.
Fine brandies and liqueurs are presented in beautiful carafes and gift bottles are and sold through dealers.
The third group consists of the 'Schnapps' products, which were sometimes mocked in the past – interesting souvenirs, sought-after collector’s items, curious and funny gifts with price tags to suit everyone.
